Terms of service

These terms are a contract between you and HeyMCP ("we", "us"), covering the HeyMCP command-line tool, the relay that carries your traffic, and the web app you sign in to. By creating an account or running heymcp share, you accept them. If you're agreeing on behalf of a company, you're confirming you're allowed to.

What HeyMCP does

HeyMCP gives a server running on your own machine a public HTTPS address, so that MCP clients elsewhere on the internet can reach it. While a share is open, traffic between those clients and your machine passes through our relay, which reads the Model Context Protocol frames in order to show you a timeline of them.

It is a development and testing tool. It is not built to be, and should not be used as, production hosting for anything people depend on.

Your account

• You sign in with GitHub. Keep that account secure — anyone who controls it controls yours.
• Your CLI token authenticates your machine. Treat it like a password; you can roll it at any time from your profile.
• One account per person. Don't share logins.
• You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 13.

What you may not do

You agree not to use HeyMCP to:

• break the law, or help anyone else do so;
• serve malware, phishing pages, or content you have no right to distribute;
• route traffic for a server you don't control or have permission to expose;
• work around plan limits — by opening extra accounts, automating sign-ups, or otherwise;
• use the relay as general-purpose hosting, a CDN, a VPN, or a proxy for traffic that isn't MCP;
• attack the service, or deliberately degrade it for other people;
• put personal data belonging to other people through a share when you don't have a lawful basis to.

We may suspend a share, or an account, that is doing any of these — immediately where the harm is ongoing. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.

Your traffic and your content

Everything that crosses a share stays yours. You give us permission to receive, carry, parse and store it only so far as we need to in order to run the service and show you your own timeline. We don't sell it, and we don't use it to train models.

Be deliberate about what you put through a share. Request and response bodies are stored so you can read them back, and anyone holding the share's URL can reach your server for as long as it's open. Don't pipe production secrets or other people's personal data through a development tool.

Plans and payment

• The free plan is free, and isn't a trial. Its limits are shown on the pricing section and enforced by the relay.
• Pro is billed monthly in advance through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• You can cancel at any time. Your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for, and doesn't renew.
• We don't refund part-months, except where the law says we must.
• If we change the price, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days first. Carrying on after that is how you accept it.
• If a payment fails, we may downgrade the account to the free plan.

Availability

We work to keep HeyMCP up, but we don't promise an uptime figure, and there's no SLA on any plan. We may change, interrupt or discontinue any part of it. For a change that would break how you use it, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.

The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing here excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for any claim is capped at whichever is greater: what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $100.

Ending it

You can delete your account whenever you like, from your profile. We may close an account that breaks these terms, or that has been dormant for a long time, after telling you. When an account closes, its sessions and stored events are deleted.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page. If a change is significant, we'll email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the version in force.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
